Included on this page are illustrations, book covers, posters, pencil sketches, etc. I used Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, and a good old pencil. (Click on images for larger views)
"Nasty 32" was one of the first cars I did in 'Illustrator 8', It was published in Street Rodder magazine. The illustration is based on a photo of a real car I shot in Pomona that year. To show Gary Meaders what his car would look like once it was painted, I took the cars photo of it in bare metal, and used that as a template in Illustrator. Here is the completed illustration. Notice the reflection in the glass and paint. There's even a "Goodguys" membership sticker on the windshield. Gary also wanted to run two different sets of wheels on the car, so I did this second illustration with Halibrands now on the car.
Easy Riders magazine did a giveaway bike, so I did an illustration of it. The illustration was published by "In the Wind" magazine (a sister publication to Easy Riders). This one's a little unusual in that it's actually an illustration of a friends 1/10th scale model of a motorcycle. Both motorcycles were done in Illustrator 8, and Photoshop 7. This is a fictitious book cover I did for a PhotoShop class. Basically I'm just having fun with filters and plug-ins to create this wild environment. Again, a wild environment. Created in Photoshop using filters and plug-ins. There are a lot of great plug-ins out there that will help you be more creative and save you time.
Just a quick illustration of an awesome car. I used Illustrator and a little Photoshop to make this "quickie" poster. This is a poster I did for the 2002 NNL Western Nationals model car convention. The "theme" that year was American Graffiti. One of the first motorcycle illustrations I ever did on the computer. It is a study in shading and reflections. Notice the handle bars in the rear fender reflection. This was a class project I had a lot of fun with, what if all three of the Judds did a CD together? It would be called "Generations" and might look like this.
The back of the CD album, if you look real close I wrote myself into some of the song titles (click on image to enlarge). Need a business card or company logo designed from scratch? I can do that for you, no problem. Just to show that I can do cartoon illustration when called upon to do so, I did this illustration of "Goofy's Gas" station. "GraphicsDeli" is the trade name I came up with for doing work in PhotoShop or Illustrator.
This is a publicity of Ashley Judd that I took into PhotoShop and manipulated using nothing but filters. This is my "Garage Scenes" catalog that I published back in the '90s. I wish I had known about Quark Express or InDesign back then! This is part of a logo I designed for a local band. I just like the way it looks so I included it here. In college (last year) I had to take a drawing class, and it was the first time in decades I sat down to use a pencil to create something. I was surprised at how fast it came back to me!
I give my instructor a lot of credit for how will this self-portrait came out. I struggled with it but with his coaching, it came out pretty darn good. A work station across from my desk at school.
A 1955 Porsche Speedster.
Perspective study.
Lightbulbs are tough to draw. A simple lamp. Old gas pump. Designer chair.
The barn and out house at Alameda County Fairgrounds. A crumpled piece of paper. A Ford ad I re-did to my likeing. Silicon Valley College had a contest to re-design their logo, this was my entry.
